Rhapsody in Blue, 100th Anniversary presented by Jack Schnur In-Person
No registration required. First come first seated.
This program will focus on how Rhapsody in Blue came to be written and first performed on February 12, 1924. There will be interviews with Leonard Bernstein, conductor Michael Tilson Thomas, and singer Michael Feinstein. Also included are video clips of George Gershwin playing the piano, and performances of Rhapsody in Blue by Leonard Bernstein, Herbie Hancock, and Lang Lang.
Presenter Jack Schnur was a video tape editor at CBS for 30 years and has presented entertainment lectures at numerous libraries around the area.
