Chinese Calligraphy Classes for Adults, courtesy of AYLUS In-Person
Registration for Great Neck cardholders and residents begins February 27 at 10:00 AM, online, in-person, or via phone. Non-residents are welcome as walk-ins, as space allows.
Classes are held Mondays, March 3, 10, 17 & 24. Register once for all 4 classes. Supplies will be provided.
Classes will be taught in English and Chinese by Professor Yuan Yixin. Graduated from Suzhou Fine Arts College, Professor Yuan studies under the famous flower and bird painters Xinjia Zhang and Jixin Zhang of the Wuwen School of Painting in China. Professor Yuan has been engaged in art education for more than 30 years and once served as the executive director of the Suzhou Art Education Society.
This program is made possible by courtesy of AYLUS (Alliance of Youth Leaders of the US), a student-run nonprofit organization with over 160 branches across the U.S. The Great Neck Branch comprises more than 130 members from our school district, ranging from elementary to high school students. Our volunteer programs include environmental assistance at Steppingstone and NY State parks, tutoring, sports activities with special needs kids, and assisting adults with disabilities through our CP Nassau program.
