Sumi-e Painting Classes for Adults In-Person
Explore the traditional Eastern art of Sumi-e in this engaging three-part series. No experience is needed to join. Each session offers hands-on experience with foundational techniques such as brush strokes, ink preparation, and composition. Participants will learn to create classic brush paintings, drawing on the serene and disciplined practices of this ancient art form.
All necessary materials, including brushes, ink, and rice paper, will be provided. Participants will have everything required to begin their journey into Sumi-e painting.
Registration recommended but not required, beginning April 29 at 10 AM online, in-person, or via phone. Great Neck cardholders and residents have priority for seating. Non-residents are welcome as walk-ins, as space allows.

Instructor Margaret Liu is a local artist, teacher, and designer, who holds a Bachelor of Arts from the China Academy of Art. Since 2011, she has been passionately teaching and hosting workshops in flower arrangement, painting, and crafting in Nassau County.
