NYS Motor Vehicle REAL ID Outreach & Application Processing (EVENT IS FULL) In-Person

As of May 7, 2025, the federal government requires a REAL ID-compliant document to board a domestic flight. A REAL ID is a federally compliant DMV-issued driver license, learner permit, or non-driver ID that is required to board a domestic flight (within the U.S.) or enter certain federal buildings, unless you have a valid passport.
If your New York State license or ID does not have a star or a flag on it, then you do not have a REAL ID-compliant document.
NYS DMV's mobile unit will be at the Main Library's Lower Lobby to process applications. Be sure to bring proof of identity, proof of NYS residency, and your completed application (MV-44 or ID-44). There is no additional fee for a REAL ID. All normal transaction fees still apply.
